چکیده

A large shaking-table test of a loess slope with geometric similarity ratio 1:25 was established as prototype model the landslide in Yongguang Village, which occurred during 2013 Minxian–Zhangxian M 6.6 earthquake. Combined finite-element–numerical-simulation software, dynamic response characteristics were compared and analyzed under action same Minxian horizontal seismic wave characteristics. The results show that waves observed numerical simulation clearly exhibit non-linear amplification effects along surface vertical direction, reaching maximum value at top slope. ground-motion acceleration waveforms each observation point similar, peak ground (PGA) obtained from these locations larger than top. Simulated-max / Model-max values ranged 1.5 to 2.2 more discrete range 0.5–2.7, while vertical-PGA-amplification factors similar. Fourier amplitude main frequencies mainly distributed between 0.1 12 Hz. spectrum approximately 0.5 Hz, frequency 4 Additionally, spectra 2 1.2 respectively.

today, scouring is one of the important topics in the river and coastal engineering so that the most destruction in the bridges is occurred due to this phenomenon. whereas the bridges are assumed as the most important connecting structures in the communications roads in the country and their importance is doubled while floodwater, thus exact design and maintenance thereof is very crucial. f...

Mathematical Modeling and Numerical Simulation of CO2 Removal by Using Hollow Fiber Membrane Contactors

Abstract In this study, a mathematical model is proposed for CO2 separation from N2/CO2 mixtureusing a hollow fiber membrane contactor by various absorbents. The contactor assumed as non-wetted membrane; radial and axial diffusions were also considered in the model development. The governing equations of the model are solved via the finite...

Topographic Effects on the Seismic Response of Steep Slopes

A frequency-domain parametric study using generalized consistent transmitting boundaries has been performed to evaluate the significance of topographic effects on the seismic response of steep slopes. The results show that the peak amplification of motion at the crest of a slope occurs at a normalized frequency 1t/2 = 0.2, where H is the slope height and 2 is the wavelength of the motion. The i...

Physical and theoretical modeling of rock slopes against block-flexure toppling failure

Block-flexure is the most common mode of toppling failure in natural and excavated rock slopes. In such failure, some rock blocks break due to tensile stresses and some overturn under their own weights and then all of them topple together. In this paper, first, a brief review of previous studies on toppling failures is presented. Then, the physical and mechanical properties of experimental mode...
